XCP Studio — Something different is coming to Xbox development

Xbox development usually starts from the target.

XCP Studio starts somewhere else.

Build the game, the scene, the interface, the audio, the behaviour — then adapt what you've created to what a real Xbox can actually execute.

Not just a predefined demo.

Games. Scenes. 2D and 3D content. UI. Audio. Behaviour.

Built outside the console. Adapted for the target. Executed on real Xbox hardware.

That idea started as a much smaller experiment.

It didn't stay small.

XCP Studio has since grown into a complete creation and adaptation system, and it's now approaching the point where it can finally leave the lab and reach other people's hands.

This post is deliberately short.

There will be time to show how it works, what “adaptation” actually means, what the Xbox is executing, where the limits are, and some of the stranger technical problems that appeared along the way.

For now, the important part is simple:

XCP Studio is preparing for release.

The next devlog will be the real one.

If building something somewhere else and seeing it come alive on Xbox sounds interesting, follow the project.

Build somewhere else. Adapt it. Run it on Xbox.
